Welcome family and friends to my fundraising page!

Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer? Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer. Regular, early screening is essential to catching this disease before it begins and in its earliest stages. The survival rate is over 90% when caught in early stages.

Colon cancer often exhibits few to no symptoms in its early states, making it challenging to detect without routing screening. By the time symptoms such as abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, or rectal bleeding become noticeable, the cancer may have already progressed to an advanced stage, reducing treatment options and prognosis. Moreover, colon cancer screening is essential for individuals with a family history of the disease or those with certain risk factors, such as age, obesity, smoking, or a diet high in red and processed meats.

I would be honored if you could support the efforts that I and our team will be making by participating in the 2024 Get Your Rear in Gear fundraiser! This event raises funding for other non-profits in addition to itself. My wife, Connie, is the Executive Director of Hill Country Mission for Health (missionforhealth.org) in Boerne, TX, and they will use the portion of funds raised during this event that will be granted to their clinic to provide cancer screening to their high-risk patients! The survival of their clinic depends solely on grants like these and other funding partners, as well as community support. They do not take any money from the government so that they can operate the clinic in a way that best provides for their patients.

Donations play a critical role in funding initiatives aimed at increasing awareness about the importance of screening, providing access to screenings for underserved communities, and advancing research into more effective screening methods and treatments. Contributions to organizations dedicated to colon cancer research and advocacy enable the development of innovative technologies and therapies, ultimately improving outcomes for patients and driving progress towards the goal of eradicating colon cancer. By supporting these efforts through donations, individuals and organizations can make a tangible difference in the fight against this disease, helping to save lives and improve the quality of life for those affected by colon cancer.

Thank you,
Tony Padgett
