Dear Family and Friends
On August 29, 2021 I will join "Shelley's Rockstars" in the 5K Walk at the 2021 Get Your Rear in Gear and Tour de Tush - Twin Cities; an event hosted by the Colon Cancer Coalition.
As you are aware, Colon Cancer greatly affected our family's life when my sister was diagnosed in September 2015, prior to the age of 50 with no family history. After a 13 month hard fought battle, we lost Shelley on October 23, 2016. I am committed to making a difference and raising funds for this disease that is designated as one of the "Silent Killer" diseases.
It is alarming to know that colon cancer is declining among adults 50-plus, however, it is rising in adults under the age of 50.
Get Your Rear in Gear and Tour de Tush events are held across the country in an effort to raise awareness of colon cancer. The events empower local communities to promote prevention and early detection of the disease and to provide support to those affected. Money raised will stay in our community to encourage screening and education for the nation’s No. 2 cancer killer. With your help, we can increase screening rates for this highly preventable cancer.
Our team goal is to raise $250.00 for the cause. Will you help us? Please consider joining our team. If you can't join us, I hope you'll consider supporting our team through a donation.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
Sincerely,
Sheri Loegering aka "Sister"
