Dear Friends and Family,
On July 28th, Sue and her team will run/walk the Get Your Rear in Gear, in Tinley Park, IL. Please join our team, Sue’s Splatter Poo’s, as we help raise colon cancer awareness and have some laughs along the way. All proceeds going to benefit the Colon Cancer Coalition.
Sue was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in June 2008; she underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatment then surgery. On September 16, 2008, Sue was declared cancer free! Her strength and positive attitude showed throughout treatment, it came as no surprise her reaction to learning a colostomy bag was necessary during surgery was a bathroom joke. A single mom, she worked full-time throughout treatment, she didn’t stop trying to help others then and hasn’t since, she volunteers at the Wellness House each week with the Colon/Colorectal Cancer Support Group. As we approach 11 years of being cancer free, there’s plenty to celebrate and what better way than by supporting a great cause?!
Our goal is to have the largest team on race day, and raise at least $1,000. For registration information, you can visit donate.coloncancercoalition.org/tinley-park. If you’re unable to join us on race day, consider supporting our team through a donation, or even becoming a virtual racer and joining in the fundraising efforts!

The money raised at these events is invested back into the local community to promote prevention and early detection of the disease and to provide support to those affected. 90% of patients will survive 5+ years when Colon Cancer is detected early. Sue is a mother, friend, co-worker; the list goes on… a colonoscopy is a big reason why she’s still all of those things to us today. Thank you for your consideration and support.
