Welcome family and friends!
Please help me support Colon Cancer Coalition by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your loved ones. Every dollar I raise will advance Colon Cancer Coalition's great cause. The goal of the Colon Cancer Coalition is to raise screening rates, increase awareness, educate the public about the signs and symptoms of the disease, and provide support for patients and caregivers. Together, we can make a difference.
Last year, we were the top fundraising team at $1405. This year, I'm setting our goal at $1500! I know we can do it!
My story first started with years of unresolved symptoms, visit after visit to the doctor, trying different diets, and feeling terrible off and on for two years. Finally, I had the colonoscopy I'd been asking for and doctors discovered a huge cancerous tumor in my sigmoid colon. I survived major invasive surgery, a long hospital stay and recovery, and 12 rounds of chemotherapy lasting over 6 months to fight my stage 2b colon cancer diagnosis. In October 2020, I will be three years cancer free!
My goal is for every person to be aware of the symptoms of colon cancer. The symptoms may include a change in bowel habits, bleeding, cramping or abdominal pain, weakness and fatigue, unintended weight loss, and anemia. If you are 45 years of age or experiencing these symptoms, schedule your screening today. This disease is preventable with screening and treatable with early intervention. My second goal is for every cancer patient to become a long term survivor.
Please join me in raising awareness about colon cancer by walking with me and donating to the Colon Cancer Coalition.
You can sign up for this FREE VIRTUAL event under "Team Sydney" and make donations right here on my page. On September 19th 2020, I plan to participate in the walk in Tacoma, WA at the Chambers Bay Golf Course. One loop around is about 5k. Hope you can make it!
Thank you for all your support. #GYRIGMyWay
Sincerely,
Sydney
