This year, my family and I are participating again, dedicating our run to our beloved cousin Eddie Ortiz, who sadly lost his battle with colon cancer on November 6, 2024.

Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the United States, claiming more lives each year than any cancer except lung cancer. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Regular, early screening is crucial for catching this disease in its earliest stages, where the survival rate is over 90%.
