My 2024 Get Your Rear in Gear - Portland Personal Page

Almost five years ago I heard the scariest words of my life - you have cancer (stage 3 colorectal to be precise). Time stopped and the whole next year was a blur; surgery, recovery, waiting for results, chemo, tests, more tests, shots to get blood counts healthy enough for chemo, bizarre side effects... A whirlwind, that honestly, I am still processing.
Life went on around me and I am forever grateful to all those who stepped in to help with kids, meals, work, etc. Through it all I never felt alone and that was the best gift I have ever received. I make this ask once a year and am always blown away at your generosity and continued support. So here it goes...
Please consider donating to the Colon Cancer Coalition through my annual fundraiser and help me reach my goal of $1,000. I am also on the planning committee this year and we need volunteers and in-kind gifts to support the race and celebrate fellow survivors. Thank you in advance, your support helps prevent others from going through what my family did and to support those who are experiencing it now. 💙🩵💙🩵
The Colon Cancer Coalition’s mission is to reduce barriers to colorectal cancer screening and educate the public about life saving colorectal cancer screening options. Together, we can make a difference.
Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer? Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Regular, early screening is essential to catching this disease before it begins and in its earliest stages.
Survival rate is over 90% when caught in early stages.
By donating and sharing my page, you can directly help people that are impacted by colon cancer and help save lives.
Thank you for your support! We are stronger together.
