GET YOUR REAR IN GEAR 2024

The New York "Get Your Rear in Gear" event began in 2010 in honor of the original CoveyLove—my sister, Amy Covey—who lost her life to colon cancer at the age of 33. Over the past 15 years, Team CoveyLove and GYRIG participants have raised more than $700,000 for colon cancer awareness, prevention, and patient support in NYC.
Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the U.S. Rates of early-onset colorectal cancer in young adults are also worryingly on the rise making awareness and screening more important than ever. Regular, early screening is key to detecting colorectal cancer in its earliest stages or even before it begins. When caught early, the survival rate is over 90%.
I missed last year’s race because I was climbing Kilimanjaro. But Amy and the GYRIG mission were my inspiration for the climb. This year, I’ll be back in NYC for the 15th Get Your Rear in Gear Race. I hope you'll join me by participating in the event, either in person or in spirit, and by making a donation to support our mission.

Thank you for your support! We are stronger together.
