In 1999 I lost my incredible grandmother, who we affectionately called Nanny, to colon cancer. It was found too late to offer her any help or hope. Early detection is key! Please help me meet and surpass my goal to help raise awareness. According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal rates are highest in Black communities. African Americans are about 20% more likely to get colorectal cancer and about 40% more likely to die from it than most other groups...yet we know so little about it. I urge you, educate yourself, get checked, and help spread awareness. This is a great way to start and thank you for helping me honor such an amazing woman. She gave her all to myself and my family, it's the least I can do in return.

Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer? Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Regular, early screening is essential to catching this disease before it begins and in its earliest stages. 

Survival rate is over 90% when caught in early stages.
