Remembering Owen Davies
Owen Davies was 30 years old when diagnosed with stage 4 Colorectal cancer. He was an athlete, active and married to a dietician so he knew about healthy eating. Even though cancer had spread to his liver, we expected that with his youth and good care he would beat this and carry on with his life. It was not enough.
Owen didn’t just “have cancer”. He lived his life with cancer and was always planning his next adventure. He also taught others about how to treat someone with cancer as a person first and not just someone with cancer. He shared his feelings and encouraged others to live their lives to the fullest. He and his wife advocated for the Colon Cancer Coalition and participated in Get Your Rear in Gear in Houston for many years, inspiring others by sharing his story.
Please support this group to slow the number of young people fighting this terrible disease. The money raised will help to fund programs dedicated to increasing colon cancer screening, encouraging all people to learn the signs and symptoms, and supporting patients on the journey. Learn more about the symptoms and testing options for colorectal cancer here: https://coloncancercoalition.org/get-educated/.
