Pedro Guerrero
Welcome to my fundraising page!
My name is Pedro Guerrero, and I was diagnosed with Stage 3b colon cancer at age 32 in May 2022. It was one of the scariest moments of my life—death was all I could think about. Within three days of my diagnosis, I underwent CT scans and a right hemi-colectomy to remove a large tumor. My hospital stay extended to three weeks due to an infection and persistent fevers. The road to recovery was brutal as I had to relearn how to have regular bowel movements and deal with the physical and emotional toll of healing.
On July 14th, just a day before my birthday, I started my first round of FOLFOX chemotherapy. Those six months were some of the most painful of my life, but by January 2023, I was finally cancer-free.
Today, I share my journey to help others going through similar struggles and raise awareness around colon cancer. This is why I’m so passionate about supporting the Colon Cancer Coalition’s mission.
Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the U.S., second only to lung cancer. But it doesn’t have to be. Regular, early screening is critical to catching this disease in its earliest stages, where the survival rate is over 90%.
By donating and sharing this page, you’re not only helping those affected by colon cancer, but you’re also saving lives through increased awareness and support for early screening.
Thank you for your support! Together, we are stronger, and together, we can make a difference.
