Hi friends!

My family started participating in Get Your Rear in Gear’s events in 2023. We sadly lost my aunt Linda “Boo” Chambliss in February 2023 to colon cancer. She was incredibly brave and remained positive throughout her seven year battle. Our family is spread out across Virginia, but we all meet in Hampton Roads each year for this event. We were fortunate to have 39 walking with us back in April. Boo is our hero, and this has been a great way to honor the amazing person we all loved. We have and always will be “Team Boo”.

Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer. Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Regular, early screening is essential to catching this disease before it begins and in its earliest stages. 

Survival rate is over 90% when caught in early stages.
