Owen Davies Memorial Cup

Owen Davies was 30 years old when diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. He bravely fought the disease for over 2 1/2 years, and his strength and determination inspired many who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Sadly, Owen recently passed from his life in February of this year.

We all met Owen through his love of hockey, where he played with the Tropics and Cobra Kai. He was an amazing teammate, friend and first-rate chirper. Owen’s genuine nature endeared him to everyone he interacted with.

Owen didn’t just “have cancer”. He LIVED his life with cancer and was always planning his next adventure. He taught others how to treat someone with cancer as a person first and not just someone with a disease. He shared his feelings and encouraged others to live their lives to the fullest. He and his wife advocated for the Colon Cancer Coalition and participated in Get Your Rear in Gear in Houston for many years, inspiring others by sharing his story. He has truly been an inspiration to us all.

Owen's family, friends, and Houston hockey community will hold the Owen Davies Memorial Cup on April 9th, at Memorial City Mall in Houston Texas. Through our efforts, we hope to raise awareness for this terrible disease and assist in the ongoing fight against Cancer. Please help us support the Colon Cancer Coalition by making a contribution and sharing this page with your family and friends.

Together, we can make a difference!
