Most of you know my story with colon cancer but if you don't, here it is. I went in for my routine colonscopy in November 2012 when I was 52. I had no symptons and no family history so I wasn't worried about the outcome. What I woke up to were the words "you have cancer". I was devastated! The year that followed was the worse of my life with surgery, chemo and lots of shots in the stomach for a blot clot that had developed. With the help of family and friends, I was able to stay positive thru that devastating part of my life.

For six years I've walked the Get Your Rear in Gear walk. Every year that I've walked, I've received the award for most money collected by an individual. My goal last year was $6,000 and I ended up raising $7,641!! Since this is my 7th year being a survivor and my 7th year doing the walk, I hope to raise $7,000 again to help people with the fight against this horrible disease.
