Welcome to our Team Viar - Inspire Hope page!
And, we’re backkkkkkk! This will be our 12th year participating in this important event! For those who don’t know, I am a Stage IV Colon Cancer Survivor, diagnosed at age 39. I was given 10% odds to live, and I am thankful I beat those odds with the love of my AMAZING support squad. This is an event I look forward to for the very important reason of paying my awesome support forward, to show those fighting colon cancer that there is hope, and to prevent those from this diagnosis to begin with! It also gives me the opportunity to spend time with my family and friends who have supported me along the way. This is what I fought for, and I want to help others feel this!
I had to take the year off last year to get my ankles fixed, and one thing I can tell you, I knew I would miss this! But I didn’t realize how much I would feel a void without it. I missed my reunion with my family and friends so much, and I also felt that I didn’t do enough to help others. I plan to get back to it in 2025!
Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer? Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The Colon Cancer Coalition wants to make colorectal cancer screening a life-long health practice available to all, saving lives from this devastating disease.
