Welcome to TEAM LIVE LIKE JOE!
Join me in championing the Colon Cancer Coalition's mission to break down barriers to colorectal cancer screening and spread awareness about life-saving screening options. Together, we have the power to make a lasting impact.
The year 2020 was unforgettable for everyone! As life began to regain a sense of normalcy, Joe started feeling some minor aches and minimal symptoms. Trusting his instincts, he consulted his doctor and requested a colonoscopy. Although Joe was just 42, they opted for a stool sample initially. The results came back showing Joe was within the "normal range" for blood levels in his stool. Unconvinced, Joe advocated for himself and pushed for further testing. Finally, with his doctor’s approval for a CT scan, the journey began! A whirlwind of tests followed—a colonoscopy, MRI, and PET scan—leading to a diagnosis of Stage 4 colorectal cancer with metastasis to his abdomen and lungs.
Throughout this battle, Joe never wavered, never surrendered, and never pitied himself. He fought with every ounce of strength and showed us all the true meaning of resilience. He brilliantly did it with a smile on his face for over three years. On Christmas Day last year, his incredible fight, sadly, came to an end. While he may not be with us physically, we can choose to LIVE LIKE JOE every day!
Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer? Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than colon cancer, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Regular, early screening is essential to catching this disease before it begins and in its earliest stages.
Survival rate is over 90% when caught in early stages. EARLY DETECTION IS THE BEST PREVENTION!
Thank you for your support! We are stronger together.
