Welcome to my fundraising page!
At just 36 years old, my best friend Kara (aka Lion) was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer with a five-month-old and a three-year-old by her side. She knew something was wrong and fought to be heard. Since then, she has faced 28 rounds of radiation, 8 rounds of the strongest chemo available, and major surgery all while continuing to be a loving, present parent alongside her husband, Chris. She is my hero.
Her resilience has been nothing short of extraordinary. But her story is also a sobering reminder: colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. and is on the rise in young adults. Despite this, it remains underfunded in research compared to many other cancers. Early detection can mean a survival rate of over 90% but too many people are diagnosed late.
We’re walking to raise awareness, fund research, and fight for earlier detection so more families get the chance for the futures they deserve. Every dollar you give helps break down barriers to screening, educates the public, and supports those affected by this disease.
Please join me in honoring her strength and in making a difference. We are stronger together.
