This year, I am running in honor of my friend and brother firefighter, Lt. Rob "Bubba" Ford. Lt. Ford was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. After a brave fight against this occupational cancer, he lost his battle on October 24, 2021.

Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in America? Second only to lung cancer? Together, we can change this. Regular, early screenings are essential to catching this disease before it begins, and in its earliest stages. Survival rate is over 90% when caught in its early stages.

Please join me in supporting the Colon Cancer Coalition’s mission to reduce barriers to colorectal cancer screening and educate the public about life-saving colorectal cancer screening options. We are raising funds and awareness for the Colon Cancer Coalition on September 20th, 2025 through the “Get Your Rear in Gear” 5K in South Boston. Together, we can make a difference.
