Hi, I’m Bryan and here is my story.
At just 44 years old, In May of 2025, shortly after moving to Massachusetts, I was diagnosed with rectosigmoid colon cancer.
I had noticed a little blood in my stool for a couple of months and kept dismissing it to a possible hemorrhoid. It wasn’t until the bleeding got more consistent and heavier that I said there is a problem.
Not having a primary doctor yet, I made a trip to the ER. All of my blood tests came back normal but luckily, the ER doctor recommended and ordered a colonoscopy.
The colonoscopy discovered my colon cancer. My world and life just got turned upside down.
In June, I had colectomy surgery to remove the mass and some lymph nodes. Pathology came back and my lymph nodes also tested positive for cancer.
I am currently in the middle of my 12 rounds of chemotherapy.
This journey is far from over but I am trying my best to stay positive throughout.
If you have any changes in bowel habits, outside of the norm, don’t hesitate to get looked at. You just never know.
I am so thankful for my wife and family who are also dealing with this as I am. I don’t know what I’d do without you all.
Thank you for your support! We are stronger together.
