Thank you for coming here to learn and support the life and story of Mia!

Mia Furdui was the first face I saw when I walked into the office at David Weekley Homes in late 2021. She sat in my interview. Her poker face was so intense I didn't quite know if I left with the job.

The next thing I know, I'm working in her office and invited to her 40th birthday party (a joint birthday with her youngest daughter). One thing I learned at that party is that Romanians know how to throw down. The whole night, there was an ear-to-ear smile that never left her face. One night spent not thinking one thought about colon cancer.

Because on all the other days, we watched Mia do something that none of the rest of us could imagine. She was faithful to her God, her family and herself and never stopped fighting, even in the darkest moments.

At a meeting one morning, as I was battling morning sickness, a bag of ginger candies popped up at my seat. She smiled at me and said she knew the feeling too well--that these are what got her through her chemo days. She had a bag at her desk too.

She threw baby showers. She noticed the small things. She shared her office drawer blanket. She became a US citizen. She made an incredible role model to her girls. She had a heart full of joy and empathy. She made everything happen.

There has never been and there will never be another soul like Mia's. Colon cancer closed her chapter too early. Whatever it takes to keep as many stories going as possible, we'll do it.

Please consider honoring her here through a donation to a wonderful cause!
