Team Sanford is back! This team was put together years ago in memory of my mother, Mary Kay Sanford. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in the summer of 2000 and passed away in February 2006. This is the fourth year that I have been the Local Event Director in Charlotte and we are ready to be back in-person after the last two events being impacted by the pandemic.

My mother used her skills to advocate for patients' rights, access to clinical trials, and transparency in the pharmaceutical industry. Fundraising for local patients, survivors, and caregivers and being a leader for the national impact of the Colon Cancer Coalition and its partner organizations is the least I can do in my mother's memory.
