My little sister Becca got colon cancer. Right in the butt.

Thankfully, she was able to somehow reach all the way around back there and kick that cancer's butt. Was it her soccer skills? Was it this weird joint thing she does? Was it just because she's tough as nails? Probably a winning combination of all those things, and more.

We're all very fortunate that Becca was able to beat this. They found it early enough and she's used to kicking butt. But the next person that gets colon cancer--maybe you, maybe me--may not be as tough as Becca. So we need better medical treatments and we need to convince everyone how much fun it is to have a colonoscopy. And that's what Get Your Rear in Gear is all about.

So I'm going all the way to Kansas City on Sep 26 to run a 5K with Becca, to support her, to raise money against the disease that threatened her, and to let her kick my butt at running. This is my small part in kicking cancer's butt.

For me, this will be about a 7,000 step process. Unless I get lost somewhere around the third or fourth K, then it could be about 8,000 or 9,000 steps, maybe more.

For you, this is a simple 2 step process:

STEP 1. Donate at Becca's running page donate.coloncancercoalition.org/kansascity/RLM; alternatively, you can donate right here on my page.

STEP 2. Go make an appointment to get a probe stuck up your butt by a qualified health care professional. Do it for yourself. Do it for your loved ones. To clarify, let the doctor work the probe, but you go ahead and make the appointment for yourself. Now.
