Once you have gotten your rear in gear, share with us using the hashtag #GYRIGMyWay.
What is this event?
It is a virtual event to raise awareness around colorectal cancer. Additionally, the funds raised at the Portland race go to local programs to promote and improve early colon cancer detection through increasing awareness and breaking down barriers for underserved patients. This program will provide financial assistance for screening and other costs associated with colon cancer screening procedures and treatments. YOUR support will a difference in fighting this disease!
Why is this event important to you?
Well, education about colon cancer is SUPER important to Matt and me! We are in this crazy time in our life where more and more people in their 20's and 30's are getting diagnosed with colon cancer. In fact 1-20 people will be diagnosed with colon cancer in their life time and 1-10 off those diagnosed will be under 50 years old. The more people know about colon cancer the more likely they will be to seek medical support if they are experiencing colon cancer symptoms. AND the earlier colon cancer is detected the higher the rates of survival are!!! So...saving lives is super important!
So...we joined Team Live Moore! YAY!!! Are we supposed to fundraise?!
First off, thank you for joining our team!!! You rock! I would LOVE for you to set your own goal for fundraising. My suggested goal would be $100 per individual. If we can get 20 people to join our team and raise $100 then we can meet our team goal. Now if you want to raise more- DO IT! If that seems like too much- no pressure. Having you be there is what counts!
Okay- I fundraised some money/I recruited some people to donate- now what?
You can either direct people to our team and they can donate there OR you can collect the money you raised and donate it to our team through your individual registration. Just sign back in with info you used to register with (let me know if the link doesn't work) and then donate
OR you can print this out and have the donor mail in their donation
