As you may know, my grandpa passed away recently, and I wanted to do something in his honor. My grandpa felt fundraising was important. He used his musical talents to sponsor polka dances to raise money to benefit burn or accident victims, as well as families who lost their homes or barns to fires.

My grandpa also truly felt he was given a second chance at life after surviving colon cancer when I was just a young child. That being said, I wanted to start my own fundraiser in his honor. The Virtual 2020 Get The ur Rear In Gear - Milwaukee event will raise funds for colon cancer screenings. The event is led by the Colon Cancer Coalition, a nonprofit organization determined to end colorectal cancer deaths by increasing screening and educating others about the signs and symptoms.

My goal is to raise funds to help give others a second chance at life like my grandfather was given so many years ago. I'm so thankful for the memories I was able to build with my grandpa and that I can still cherish forever. I want others to have the same opportunity to build memories with their loved ones 💙.
