The Charlotte Get Your Rear in Gear 5k raises money for those in the Charlotte community who need critical screenings for colon cancer, as well as to provide resources to those fighting the disease. As a stage III colon cancer survivor, I know how critical it is to have this disease detected early. I am approaching my 5 year mark of having beaten this disease, and will finally be able to utter the words "cancer-free" for the first time.
