I am once again participating in the Tour de Tush. A fun event with a funny name to raise awareness and screening rates for a not so funny disease, colon cancer. On June 8, I will be riding my bicycle 62 miles for the Colon Cancer Coalition to help raise awareness and increase screening rates for colon cancer.

Colon cancer is very personal to me, I lost my mother to colon cancer in 2017. I never imagined my life would be touched by colon cancer in such a devastating way. Life hasn't been the same since she left this world. Since losing my mother, I've also learned of a friend who has fought and is beating colon cancer. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. But no one likes to talk about it. Colon cancer is highly treatable. When colon cancer is found in its earliest stages, the five-year survival rate is 90%. 1 in 5 patients diagnosed with colon cancer are ages 20 to 54. Regular screening can prevent a large number of colorectal cancers from happening.

Please consider joining me in the fight against colon cancer by sponsoring me in this year's Tour de Tush with a donation. The goal of this event is simple. Help increase awareness and screening rates for colon cancer! The chance of surviving colon cancer goes up with early detection and treatment—but only 40% of colon cancers are found in the early stages. Help us increase screening rates and save more lives. Or if you have a bike join us by riding one of the 3 courses.

Thank you!
